Born in a garage.
Perfected for the track.
In 2003, Alan Lindgren of Speed of Sound LLC in Memphis set out to solve a problem every serious Mustang owner faced: ugly, poorly integrated gauge pods that ruined the clean interior lines of their cars.
His solution was revolutionary. Instead of bolting cheap plastic pods onto the pillar, he replaced the entire factory A-pillar with a precision-engineered piece that looked like it came straight from Ford — only better. Gauges were perfectly angled toward the driver. Texture and color matched OEM perfectly. Fitment was flawless.
The result? The Speed of Sound Gauge Pod became the gold standard. It earned US Design Patent D529,422. It was installed in cars across 44+ countries. Forum legends were born.
